Flying with Heart, United Airlines, Georgia Kingsley
Georgia Kingsley’s introduction to Fisher House came out of tragedy, offering support to Fisher House Foundation’s Hero Miles program in 2011 when a Chinook helicopter crashed. Since then, she has been a constant supporter and friend to the Foundation.
For the last three years, Georgia has represented United Airlines as a goodwill ambassador at the Warrior Games. Through the generosity of United customers donating their frequent flyer miles to Fisher House Foundation, Georgia has been able to see first-hand what United’s support means to service members and their families. Georgia’s favorite memory of the Warrior Games was when she had the honor of presenting medals to the athletes during the award ceremonies.
“When I draped the gold, silver and bronze medals around the necks of the winners, my hands were shaking,” Georgia recalled. “It was a very emotional moment of admiration and humility. Representing United at the Warrior Games is a tremendous honor and a highlight of my career,” she continued. “The courage, strength, determination and perseverance of these athletes is an inspiration to us all.”
Georgia is just one of United Airlines employees who adds a personal touch to the support they provide military families. Nicole Lee, who is the Senior Manager, Corporate and Community Affairs in United’s Corporate and Community Affairs department, is another liaison that ensures charities are well represented within United Airlines. Nicole plays an integral part in making sure the Foundation is supported through United.
Whether it’s trying to find a solution for a service member or going above and beyond to support Foundation initiatives, we are grateful for the support United provides.
“United supports many national charities, as we are committed to being responsible global citizens,” said Georgia. “I am proud to say I work for a company that champions humanitarian efforts worldwide.”
