After three months of fundraising, MicroTech raised $7,380 for the Fisher House Foundation. MicroTech’s philanthropic initiative benefiting America’s military service men and women donated $1 for every new “follower” and “like” on MicroTech’s corporate social media platforms: Facebook, Linked-in, and Twitter. Today at MicroTech headquarters, President and CEO Tony Jimenez presented a check to Mary Considine, the Foundation’s Director of Administration.
MicroTech’s campaign was called “Lean on Me”—chosen for American singer-songwriter Bill Withers’ lyrical call to action. MicroTech understands that while the brave military service men and women protect our country, we need to give them that same feeling of comfort when they come home. Therefore, MicroTech committed to donating $1 to the foundation for every new follow and like MicroTech received—up to $3 per person.
Every year, the Fisher House Foundation provides free temporary housing for over 17,000 military families while their loved ones undergo treatment at a nearby facility. Created in 1990, the non-profit organization provides “comfort homes” specifically built on the grounds of every major military and VA medical center, ensuring every family has the ability to be close by.
“This was a national campaign using our technology and fueled by our employees, customers, partners, and charity supporters to lend a hand to a tremendous cause,” remarked a grateful Tony Jimenez, “MicroTech has long been a supporter of our military and this latest campaign is just another way to say 'thank you.'”
"We are sincerely grateful for the support of MicroTech and their campaign to benefit Fisher House," said Fisher House Foundation President David Coker. "Their 'Lean on Me' fundraiser once again proves how generous the American public is. We thank them and their supporters for their efforts to support our military."
Because of the enthusiasm of MicroTech’s fans, our donation will be used to reimburse the much needed residential and utility costs that housing requires. So far, the Foundation has saved military families more than $25 million that would have been used for hotel rooms, transportation, and food.
Thanks again to all of our fans for participating in the fundraiser and supporting a great cause. MicroTech could not have done it without you!
