Combined Federal Campaign

Fisher House Foundation - CFC Agency Code 11453

The key word associated with the Combined Federal Campaign is "choice." Military personnel and federal civilian employees are invited to participate in the annual fund raising effort, and each donor can chose which nonprofit organizations they wish to support by designating one or more by a unique CFC agency code. The codes have been revised in 2007. The agency code for Fisher House Foundation is 11453. The agency code for each participating Fisher House is displayed in the "Locations" section of this web site.

Any CFC donor can designate Fisher House Foundation because as a national nonprofit, the Foundation is listed in the CFC directories of every local CFC campaign. To designate to a specific Fisher House, that house must have applied and been accepted for inclusion in a local CFC campaign; and only donors in that specific geographic location can designate a local nonprofit organization.

Only national nonprofit organizations can participate in the overseas Combined Federal Campaign, so Fisher House Foundation pledges a portion of the donations it receives in the overseas campaign to the two Fisher Houses at the Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany.

Designating Fisher House Foundation or an individual Fisher House provides the program with significant funds which are used to expand and/or enhance either national or local programs.

At the national level, Fisher House Foundation uses the donations it receives to help build future Fisher Houses; and to support the network of homes by paying the daily billeting charges for guest families at all Army, Navy, and Air Force Fisher Houses (The Code of Federal Regulations stipulates that veterans do not pay to stay at any Department of Veterans Affairs Fisher House). Donations are used to pay the security fees and taxes on the free airline tickets the Foundation provides to wounded service members and their families; and they help pay for long distance calling cards and gift certificates redeemable in military exchanges and commissaries, among other programs.

At the local level, CFC contributions provide for enhancements for families staying at the homes and they help defray the costs of operating and maintaining the homes. To learn of the specific uses of CFC donations at a particular Fisher House, it is suggested that donors contact the managers directly. The names, phone numbers, and email addresses for all Fisher House managers is at the "Locations" section of this web site.

The standard applied by the U. S. Government for inclusion in the annual Combined Federal Campaign is that not more than 25% of the revenue received in the year prior can be spent on the administration and fund raising expenses of the organization. For Fisher House Foundation, the "overhead" (the total of administration and fund raising expense), as evidenced by annual audit and tax return is 2%, and for most of the individual Fisher Houses, it is zero. The CFC directory published in each local area includes a 25-word description of each participating organization, together with the organizationšs web site, telephone number and overhead expense.

Fisher House Foundation recognizes that donors have choices. We ask that you review our materials, call or write if you have questions, and decide which organizations you will support during the annual Combined Federal Campaign. If you share our vision that America owes a debt of gratitude to its service men and women, and their families, and especially upon the unexpected hospitalization of a loved one, then consider designating Fisher House Foundation or an individual Fisher House during the annual Combined Federal Campaign.
